ELGA full form - English language & general awareness

ELGA is a level based program (ELGA has Level 1 to Level 21)

Is it a new subject - Yes,NCERT english will be replaced by ELGA. ELGA offers learning outcomes instead of chapters.

Can the same class/grade have ELGA & NCERT English - No

Can in one school we have ELGA & NCERT English - Yes. E.g - Grade 1 to Grade 5 will have ELGA and Grade 6 to Grade 8 can have NCERT english.
How to conduct BOY

Offline Mode : Schedule BOY → Download the BOY packet → Conduct the BOY ASM → Marks correction & updation of marks

Online Mode : Schedule BOY → Conduct the BOY ASM (Students appear for it on the LSA) → ELGA grouping
Things to remember about ELGA & BOY

BOY is not conducted every year, it's only conducted when a new school partners with Lead
-
Based on EOY results, students go to the next higher ELGA level

BOY Assessment is also called ELGA - BOY (Later we will also see Non-ELGA Boy)

ELGA is taught for 2 hours daily in the school (Minimum for 4 days)

Student’s with same ELGA levels sit together for the ELGA class
ELGA Allocation
How your ELGA classes & divisions will be created?

Each student will be grouped in an ELGA class and division based on their BOY assessment marks.

ELGA classes will be created based on the number of classes available and as per the seating capacity of a classroom.

If you do not have sufficient classrooms to seat all students, system will give an error saying 'More Classrooms Needed'. In such case, you can either add more divisions in School Setup or change the seating capacity of some of the divisions. If that is not possible, please contact Academic Excellence Manager for your school for support.

System will also check if you have sufficient ELGA teachers for all classrooms. This check will be based on the number of teachers who you have selected 'Yes' for 'Can Teach English' during School Set up. In such case, you can either select 'Yes' for more teachers who 'Can Teach English' or contact Academic Excellence Manager for your school for support.

When you have resolved all issues, system will ask you to 'Confirm ELGA Grouping'. Based on this grouping, your student book orders will be placed. Please ensure you confirm ELGA grouping only after you have thoroughly checked the student wise ELGA classes and divisions. You can contact Academic Excellence Manager for your school for support.
