2. General Troubleshooting Steps

🔹 1. Check if the SD Card is Detected

  • Go to Settings → Storage → SD Card.

  • If the tablet shows “No SD card detected” or “Corrupted SD card”, it’s likely damaged.

  • Try removing and reinserting the card — ensure it’s properly inserted in the SD card slot.

🔹 2. Try Accessing SD Card Files

  • Open File Manager / My Files → SD Card.

  • If it takes too long to load, shows blank folders, or displays “Can’t read SD card”, the card may be corrupted.

🔹 3. Test with Another Device

  • Remove the SD card and insert it into another tablet, phone, or laptop using a card reader.

  • If it doesn’t open or show data there either, the issue is with the SD card, not the tablet.

🔹 4. Remove and Reinsert

  • Remove the SD card, and reinsert it properly.

  • Check if it’s detected under Settings → Storage.

🔹 5. Check on Another Device

  • Insert the SD card into another tablet, phone, or laptop using a card reader.

  • If it works fine there, the issue could be with the tablet’s SD card slot — escalate to the IT Infrastructure team as a hardware issue.

🔹 6. Format the SD Card (Only if Necessary)

Proceed only if data backup is done or not required. In the Teacher app, perform one click.

  • Go to Settings → Storage → SD Card → Format SD card.

  • Confirm and format the SD card.

  • After formatting, set it as portable storage (in the notification bar SD card set up option is visible).

  • Reopen Teacher App → click continue →One click→ Download Resources to reload content.

🔹 7. Replace the SD card

  • If the tablet still displays “Corrupted SD card”, “Unsupported format”, or fails to detect it after formatting:

    • Replace it with a new, good-quality SD card.

    • Coordinate replacement through the IT Infrastructure team.

3. Conditions to Format SD Card

Formatting should only be done if one or more of the following conditions are met:

  • SD card shows as “Corrupted” or “Damaged” in Storage settings.

  • SD card is full and requires content reload after confirmation from the content/product team.

  • SD card in internal Storage

⚠️ Note: Inform the teacher before formatting that this process will erase all downloaded content, and resources will need to be re-downloaded after setup.

4. SD card in internal Storage Issue

  • Select the SD card.

  • Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.

  • Choose Storage Settings.

  • Select Format SD card.

5. Cross-Verification Questions to Ask the Customer

Before or during troubleshooting, confirm the following details with the teacher:

  • Has any other teacher’s login been used on the affected tablet?

  • Was the SD card removed or reinserted recently?

  • Have you faced this issue before on the same device?

  • Did the issue occur after performing One Click or while doing One Click?

  • Have you tried downloading any other files (non-resource content) onto the SD card?

  • Did the tablet or SD card receive any recent update, app installation, or formatting prompt before the issue began?

  • Did the tablet switch off suddenly, lose power, or freeze during SD card operations?

  • Has the SD card been used in any other device before being inserted into this tablet?

🔹 8. Escalate Repeated SD Card Corruption Cases

If you find that a particular SD card is getting corrupted more than two times, even after troubleshooting and formatting, it may indicate an underlying hardware or compatibility issue.

In such cases, follow the steps below:

  • Replace the SD card with a new one (coordinate with the IT Infrastructure Team for a replacement).

  • Ask the user not to format the affected SD card again.

  • Send the affected SD card to the Bangalore office for further investigation.

  • Developer Shreyas will be checking and analyzing these SD cards to identify the root cause.
